Late-Use coated card from Chicago

Late-Use coated card from Chicago

This card is interesting, since it was 'silvered' on the face, and clay-coated on the reverse to cover the prior preprinting. This one was formerly preprinted by William B. Scaipe & Sons, out of Pittsburg. The card looks like it was separately coated in two operations. The silver coating on the face completely obliterates the original addressee.

The POD invalidated the coating and use of spoiled postal cards in July of 1902, so the 6/25/1902 use makes it special for recounting of this story.
