There's probably never been a big 'Find' of used GE cards. The handful of these rare items that have turned up were probably accidentally not discarded as 'junk mail' when received. It's actually remarkable that any of these are available to the philatelic community at all, since by rare happenstance, a contemporary philatelist also had to be around and recognize that this was not an 'ordinary' postal card being received.
The Scott catalogue value for these items in used condition is ridiculously low. Even the UPSS specialized valuation for these cards is unrealistic. I'd bet there's less than 100 genuine examples of this card properly used during the 3-Cent rate period in existence. This would be a great card to do a census on.
This example was used long after the end of the initial ad campaign which created the cards, but still inside of the proper 3-Cent rate period. Postmarked May 2, 1961, it may be that unused cards were sent to local GE distributors and repair shops who could send them to customers as they saw fit. Since the postcard rate changed again in 1962, perhaps these same remainders became the sources for some of the hoards of mint cards which later turned up.
The ad on the back of this card is ETR-1724-2. One of the scarcer GE ads. I suspect that many of the used cards exhibit the scarcer ads not found in unused cards.
