Here's a scarce overseas airmail use of an official postal card with added official adhesives.
The card was not current at the time of use, but the overall 40-Cent overseas rate to Japan is correct for the period. The thrifty use of old-rate stock seems to reflect the agencies' need to account for their postal paper. This was the reason for the return of denominated official stamps and stationery in the first place.
